BLBI Task Force Successfully Secures Assets Worth IDR 5.9 Trillion
JAKARTA - The National Police Chief Gen. Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo revealed that the Task Force (Satgas) for handling state collection rights from BLBI funds managed to seize assets worth Rp. 5.9 trillion to be returned to the state.
"Rp5.9 trillion in value of confiscated assets, handling and physical control of the obligor's assets," said Sigit in a written statement received in Jakarta, Thursday.
Sigit explained that the total assets are in the form of security and physical control of assets owned by obligors or debtors of BLBI funds.
In addition, Sigit also conveyed that the Bhayangakara Corps in uncovering cases of crimes against state assets or corruption continues to be carried out on a massive scale. During 2021, the National Police will handle 247 corruption cases.
Meanwhile, based on the assessment of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), a total of Rp442 billion worth of state financial cases were saved from investigating corruption cases throughout 2021.
"This number has increased by 18.5 percent compared to 2020," he said.
The four-star general said that the National Police did not only take action, prevention efforts were also carried out through measurable system improvements through improving the Corruption Perception Index (GPA) in Indonesia.
Based on the results of the study, it was shown that an increase in GPA of 1 point contributed to an increase in Gross Domestic Product of 1.7 percent or Rp.273 trillion.
Not only that, continued Sigit, to strengthen efforts to eradicate corruption, the Police have also recruited 44 former KPK employees by prioritizing efforts to prevent corruption and restore state finances.
On the other hand, the former Head of the Propam Division added that throughout 2021 the National Police had uncovered 324 criminal cases of natural wealth crimes in the form of illegal logging, 350 illegal mining (mining crimes) and 35 cases of illegal fishing.
"The total number of cases that were resolved was 247 cases out of 557 cases," said Sigit.
