Dozens Of Houses In Jepara Were Damaged By The Tornado

JEPARA - The tornado that occurred in Srikandang Village, Bangsri District, Jepara Regency, Central Java, damaged dozens of houses of local villagers.

According to the Daily Chief Executive of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Jepara Regency, Arwin Noor Isdiyanto, the tornado in Srikandang Village occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, January 26.

Before the natural disaster hit the local village, he said, there was heavy rain accompanied by strong winds. Then a number of residents' houses suffered damage to the roof tiles scattered by the wind.

Based on temporary data, there are 30 houses affected by the natural disaster with varying degrees of damage.

"Alhamdulillah, there were no casualties because none of the residents' houses were severely damaged," he said, quoted by Antara.

As a result of this incident, the PLN electricity network also experienced blackouts, so local residents had to be patient waiting for it to restart.

A similar incident also occurred in Semat Village, Tahunan District on January 13, 2022, which caused Nuryati's house to completely collapse. The owner of the house also suffered lacerations to the head.

BPBD Jepara appealed to the public to remain vigilant with the current weather, especially in areas prone to natural disasters.
