Joint Working Meeting With KPK, Members Of Commission III Of The Indonesian House Of Representatives Ask Corruptors Not To Be Vaccinated Against COVID-19

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR RI, the Golkar Party faction, Supriansa, has asked the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) not to give the COVID-19 vaccine to suspects in corruption cases.

This was conveyed in a working meeting between Commission III of the DPR RI and the KPK which was held on Wednesday, January 26.

"If there is indeed a corruptor that exists today, don't be too nameless, Mr. Chairman (Chairman of the KPK Firli Bahuri) is vaccinated and so on," Supriansa said at the meeting.

Supriansa assessed that this method could provide a deterrent effect to all parties. So, it is hoped that there will be no more corrupt practices in the future.

Moreover, nowadays there are rarely demands for the death penalty for perpetrators of corruption in the country.

"Lately, it is rare for decisions to be made in court. Inkracht is the death penalty for corruptors. Rarely," he said.

"Let's just die without being vaccinated. So that these behaviors that are lacking do not drag on others," he added.

Furthermore, Supriansa also highlighted the steps to prevent corruption that have been carried out by the KPK. He appreciated the steps taken by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to directly approach and prevent officials as well as regents and mayors throughout Indonesia.

But on the other hand, Supriansa asked how far these steps had been taken.

"How many percent have been touched, how many percent have not been touched, so starting the new year is extraordinary. I think the KPK has proven its independence in law enforcement and can arrest several regional heads in Indonesia," he concluded.
