Clash Of 2 Residents Groups In Central Maluku, One Mobile Brigade SSK Deployed To Prevent Follow-up Kericuhab
JAKARTA - The National Police has deployed one Mobile Brigade Unit (SSK) to secure the border between Kariuw Village and Ori Village, Haruku Island District, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku. The goal is to prevent further clashes.
"Polda has sent Brimob 1 SSK troops to back up the Ambon Police to localize and anticipate clashes," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo to VOI, Wednesday, January 26.
Not only that, the Maluku Regional Police also involved religious and traditional leaders to calm the two groups. So, the existing problems can be solved properly.
"Also involve community, customary and religious leaders to mitigate clashes," he said.
For now, conditions on the border of the two villages are monitored to be safe. Communities that had been involved in clashes have been brought under control.
"Thank God the situation is under control," he said
Meanwhile, clashes between two groups of residents occurred on the border of Kariuw Village and Ori Village, Haruku Island District, Central Maluku Regency, Maluku. As a result of the clashes, two people died and three people were injured.
One of the three people who were injured was a member of the National Police. The victim of this police officer is said to have suffered a wound in the jaw.
