Residents Of Bantar Jati Cipayung TPU Eviction Ask Anies' Office For Compensation For 1.2 Hectares Of Land

JAKARTA - A number of residents who were evicted from the construction of the Bantar Jati Cipayung Public Cemetery (TPU) urged the DKI Provincial Government to pay compensation for an area of 1.2 hectares.

It is known that the former residential area has been built by a TPU on Jalan Bantar Jati RT 007 RW 02 Setu Village, Cipayung, East Jakarta since 1975.

However, until now, residents affected by the eviction have not received compensation. They complained to Commission A DPRD DKI Jakarta. Secretary of Commission A for Administration of the DKI DPRD, Nasrullah, admitted that his party would follow up on the residents' reports.

"Furthermore, we will invite the Legal Bureau regarding the status of this land. Will the DKI Regional Government continue to appeal or will it pay for it, because the decision must be clear," said Nasrullah in his statement, Wednesday, January 26.

The resident whose land was evicted had filed a lawsuit in 1998 to the State Administrative Court (PTUN) and the heirs decided to win.

If the compensation is paid, the DKI Provincial Government must pay Rp. 100 billion with a calculation price of Rp. 10 million per square meter. However, until now his party has not received compensation or rent from the DKI Provincial Government.

Therefore, Nasrullah admitted that his party will also coordinate with Commission D for the Development of the DKI DPRD to present the DKI City Park and Forest Service to resolve the issue of land compensation.

“So we will also invite the Parks Department, because this is related to a very big decision. So we will also coordinate with Commission D. At the same time we will also ask for a legal opinion from the Legal Bureau," he said.
