Explosion Suspected Of Fish Bombing Injures 3 People In Sibolga, North Sumatra

MEDAN - The explosion occurred in Sibolga City, North Sumatra. Based on the photos received, it looks like a building made of shattered wood.

A puff of smoke was also seen, which was thought to have come from the location of the explosion. North Sumatra Police Chief, Inspector General Panca Putra Simanjuntak, said the explosion occurred at 09.30 WIB.

"That's right, in (City) Sibolga, at Tangkahan Banyan, at 09.30", said Inspector General Panca in Medan, Monday, January 24.

As a result, 3 people were taken to the hospital. The Kapoldasu confirmed that there were no casualties as a result of this explosion.

"Injuries of 3 (people), have now been taken to the hospital", he said.

Inspector General Panca explained that the explosion was strongly suspected to have come from a fish bomb. He confirmed that the explosion was not related to an act of terrorism.

"No (terrorism). It is suspected that it is related to the fish bomb, but we are still investigating it first, later the laboratory team will come down", said Inspector General Panca.
