Riau Police Arrest 11 Smugglers 80 Kg Shabu From Malaysia
PEKANBARU - Riau Police officers arrested 11 suspected smugglers of methamphetamine as much as 80 kilograms in a number of locations in Riau who came from Malaysia.
Director of Narcotics Research at the Riau Police Kombes Yos Guntur Yudi Fauris Susanto said the disclosure started from public information that there would be narcotics transactions that would enter the Riau area.
Based on this information, his party immediately conducted an investigation and succeeded in securing three men with the initials EA (45), SI (31), and PD (22) at a salon in Dumai City.
"From EA's arrest, information was found that he received orders from an inmate at Bengkalis Lapas with the initials IA. Inmate IA is the controller who received orders from a Malaysian city dealer to find a courier to pick up methamphetamine in the middle of the sea," said Yos Guntur during a press conference. quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 20.
From EA's statement, officers made development efforts that led to a house, and there were successfully arrested two suspects with the initials IL (44) and KS (27). They act as parties to pick up methamphetamine in the waters of the Malacca Strait.
"Acknowledgement from IL and KS, they picked up as many as six backpacks containing methamphetamine into the sea waters between Malaysia and Indonesia. The meth was taken to Sepahat Bengkalis on EA's orders," said Yos Guntur.
Of the 80 kilograms of methamphetamine, it is known to have been handed over to S (45) who acts as a land courier. S has brought in illegal goods to Pekanbaru from Sepahat, Bengkalis Regency. S was finally arrested without a fight at the Lokomotiv Street boarding house, Limapuluh District, Pekanbaru City.
"Bandar Malaysia ordered that the methamphetamine be handed over to S. S. They are looking for land couriers who are divided into two teams. Later they will bring the methamphetamine to West Java and East Java. Each team has two people," he said.
Yos Guntur continued that the land couriers were arrested in two different locations. First at a hotel on Jalan Harapan Raya, then securing RE (30) and RP (28) along with evidence of two suitcases containing methamphetamine. They were assigned to bring methamphetamine from Pekanbaru to Bandung, West Java.
The second location was in a hotel on Jalan Sultan Syarif Kasim and arrested WN (19) and SR (19) with evidence of two large suitcases which also contained methamphetamine. They were ordered to bring 45 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine to Surabaya, East Java. The land couriers were promised a salary of Rp. 15 million for each kilogram.
Furthermore, the suspects and evidence were taken to the Riau Police's Narcotics Directorate Office for further investigation and development.
"The suspects are charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2008 concerning Narcotics. With the threat of the death penalty, life imprisonment or a minimum of 6 years and a maximum of 20 years. prison," said Kombes Pol Yos Guntur.
