Langkat Regent Terbit Rencana Perangin Angin's Brother Is Also Named As A Suspect
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named six people as suspects in the alleged bribery of procuring goods and services in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra after carrying out a red-handed operation (OTT). Five people were named as suspects for accepting bribes and one suspect for giving bribes.
The six people who have been named as suspects for receiving bribes are the Regent of Langkat Terbit Rencana Perangin Angin; The head of Balai Kasih Village who is Terbit Rencana Perangin Angin's brother, Iskandar PA; and three private persons or contractors, namely Marcos Surya Abdi, Shuhandra Citra, and Isfi Syahfitra.
While a giver is Muara Perangin Angin which is a private party or contractor.
"KPK has raised the status of this case to the investigation stage by announcing the suspect," said KPK Deputy Chair Nurul Ghufron at a conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, January 20 in the morning.
After being named as suspects, they will be detained in a different KPK detention center. There is a plan to be detained at the KPK Detention Center at Pomdam Jaya Guntur with Shuhandra Cita.
Meanwhile, Muara Perangin Angin was detained at the KPK Detention Center, Merah Putih Building; Isfi is being held at the East Jakarta Police Detention Center; and Marcos Surya Abdi was detained at the Central Jakarta Metro Police Detention Center.
As for Iskandar, he has not been detained and will only be brought to the Binjai Police Station for a request for information.
"KPK received information that with the assistance of the North Sumatra Regional Police, the UTI suspect has now been secured by the team and immediately taken to the Binjai Police Station," said Ghufron.
In this case, the KPK suspects that Terbit made arrangements for the implementation of the infrastructure work project package in Langkat Regency.
Ghufron said that Terbit also ordered his subordinates to actively coordinate with his brother, Iskandar, who was his representative to choose the contractor who won the work package at the PUPR Service and the Education Office.
"In order to be the winner of the work project package, it is suspected that there is a request for a percentage fee by TSK TRP through suspect ISK with a percentage value of 15 percent of the project value for work packages through the auction stage and a percentage value of 16.5 percent of the project value for direct appointment packages," Ghufron explained.

Meanwhile, Muara as the provider was suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b or Article 13 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
