There Is Unlicensed Reclamation At Singkarak Lake, West Sumatra, KPK: This Is A Form Of Violation
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) received information that certain parties had violated the use of space in Singkarak Lake. One type is in the form of reclamation which is carried out without a legal basis and utilization permit.
"KPK obtained information from the public that there were allegations of violations of the use of space in Singkarak Lake by certain parties. The parties are suspected of having carried out reclamation activities in the area of the lake water body without a legal basis and permit for its use. So this reclamation is one form of violation," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Prevention Ipi Maryati told reporters, Wednesday, January 19.
This condition made the KPK intervene and try to recover to save the country's wealth. The trick is to ask the West Sumatra Provincial Government to draw up a Strategic Spatial Plan.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of PUPR, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Ministry of ATR/BPN, and West Sumatra Provincial Government were asked to arrange zoning of water bodies and lake boundaries so that there is arrangement, protection, and utilization of lakes according to lake ecosystem functions.
"KPK encourages controlling state assets and joint discussions by stakeholders regarding the use of Singkarak Lake space according to the function of the lake ecosystem," said Ipi.

Moreover, Presidential Decree Number 60 of 2021 has determined Singkarak Lake to be one of 15 lakes included in the list of National Priority Lake Rescue.
"KPK hopes that the control of state assets on national priority lakes can be carried out intensively and sustainably by involving all elements in order to provide optimal benefits for the welfare of the community while maintaining the sustainability of the ecosystem," concluded Ipi.
