The Number Of Residents Exposed To COVID-19 In Central Sulawesi Increases By Eight People

PALU - Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) Province COVID-19 Data and Information Center (Pusdatina) spokesman Adiman stated that the cumulative cases of residents exposed to COVID-19 currently reached 47,296 cases after adding eight per Tuesday, January 18 evening.

"Today, eight people have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 based on the results of swab samples, so that a cumulative 47,296 people have been infected with COVID-19 to date," Adiman said, quoted by Antara.

He explained that the eight people were in a number of areas, including five in Palu City and three in Sigi Regency.

Meanwhile, no COVID-19 patients have been declared cured today. Cumulatively, the total number of recovered COVID-19 patients to date is 45,665 people.

Then, cumulatively, the total number of COVID-19 patients who have died currently amounts to 1,609 people.

"The 58 patients who have been exposed to COVID-19 are still undergoing quarantine independently or at health service centers belonging to the local government," he said.

Adiman asked the public to support the supervisory team of the district and city health offices in Central Sulawesi who conducted searches on people who had been in contact with positive COVID-19 patients.

In addition, residents are advised to strictly implement health protocols to prevent the transmission and spread of COVID-19.

"The prevention is by wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, staying away from crowds and reducing mobility outside the home. These steps are very important to do to break the chain of spread and transmission of COVID-19 in Central Sulawesi," he said.
