Tired Of Studying At Home? February Pekalongan City Government Conducts 100 Percent Face-to-Face Learning

PEKALONGAN - Pekalongan City Government, Central Java, is ready to conduct face-to-face learning (PTM) with 100 percent capacity at all levels of education while still implementing strict health protocols.

Pekalongan Mayor, Afzan Arslan Djunaid, said that the city government is targeting 100 percent PTM activities in this school to be implemented in February 2022.

However, he said, the city government would still provide restrictions on activities in schools such as the implementation of teaching and learning activities with a maximum duration of 6 hours.

"For now, 100 percent PTM has been planned and has been implemented in several schools. However, we are targeting that by February 2022 all levels of education will be able to implement 100 percent PTM", he said in Pekalongan, reported by Antara on Tuesday, January 18.

Afzan said that currently, the city government is still watching and monitoring the development of the new variant of Omicron in Indonesia, especially in the Pekalongan City area.

"In the future, how will the conditions (the new variant of Omicron, ed.) be. Hopefully, Omicron will not reach Pekalongan City so that 100 percent PTM can start in February 2022", he said.

According to him, the implementation of 100 percent capacity PTM requires commitment from various parties, both educators, students, and parents to remain vigilant, be careful, and adhere to health protocols strictly.

"We are implementing 100 percent PTM little by little in schools and hopefully it is safe because students already miss studying with friends, teachers already miss teaching and learning activities at school", he said.
