Police Have Not Received Application For Suspension Of Detention Of Ferdinand Hutahaean
JAKARTA - The National Police has not yet received the request for a suspension of detention submitted by Ferdinand Hutahaean in the case of alleged hate speech. Ferdinand's team of lawyers previously claimed to have submitted an application.
"We have conveyed that until this afternoon, the investigators have not received the request for a postponement of the detention of FH's brother. So no request for a suspension has been received," said Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the Police Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Tuesday, January 18.
However, said Ramadhan, if the request for the suspension has been received, investigators will consider several things before making a decision.
"What must be considered first. Of course, there will be considerations as to what is the reason for the postponement of detention. We haven't made a decision yet. We'll see what the reason is," said Ramadhan.
In addition, investigators will also consider the reasons from Ferdinand's side in applying for a suspension of detention. Because that is the main basis for consideration.
"We will consider the basis of the request. What is the reason for the request for suspension," said Ramadhan.
Previously, Ferdinand Hutahaean's lawyer, Ronny Hutahaean, stated that he had submitted a request for a suspension of detention to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. However, the decision to accept or not is left to the investigators.
"The guarantor is family, one of them is only family and there are other experts. But what we can convey is the family, namely parents, and the other family, as the father," said Ronny.
