Initial Logistics Assistance For Earthquake Victims Begins To Be Distributed By Banten Provincial Government

JAKARTA - The Banten Provincial Government distributed emergency assistance in the form of additional initial logistics to the Pandeglang Regency Social Service for handling victims affected by the 6.6 magnitude earthquake in the area on Friday, January 14.

"Currently what we are doing is providing emergency assistance, community evacuation, data collection, assessment, and monitoring of affected areas," said Head of the Banten Province Social Service, Nurhana, in Serang, Saturday, January 15.

Until now, data collection is still being done as well as mapping the need for emergency assistance for the victims of the earthquake.

The Banten Provincial Government has made initial logistics deliveries to the Social Service of Pandeglang Regency, in the form of 100 packages of family kitchen equipment and 100 packages of "kidsware".

Furthermore, he said, the Banten Provincial Government will send additional logistics to Pandeglang Regency and Lebak Regency.

The additional logistical assistance includes ready-to-eat food, bottled drinking water, "kidsware", pampers, sanitary napkins, roll tents, family tents, multi-purpose family tents, mattresses, mattresses, and blankets.

"For the preparation of public kitchen facilities, it is adjusted to the needs," said Nurhana as quoted from ANTARA.

In handling residents affected by the earthquake, the Banten Provincial Social Service coordinated with the Pandeglang Regency Government, Lebak Regency Government, TNI, Polri, and other community institutions.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 on Friday (14/1), at around 16.05 western Indonesia time centered in the southwest of Sumur District, Pandeglang Regency, damaged hundreds of houses and other public facilities.
