Banten Police Record 54 Houses Damaged Due to 6.7 Magnitude Earthquake

SERANG – The Banten earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7, Friday afternoon, January 14, left people feeling sad. The Banten Police noted that dozens of houses in Pandeglang Regency and Lebak Regency were damaged by the earthquake centered at Sumur area, Pandeglang.

According to the Head of Public Relations of the Banten Police, Grand Commissioner Pol. Shinto Silitonga, after the earthquake the Banten Police had checked the condition of sea level and the impact of the earthquake in the form of damage to buildings and victims suffered by the community.

"The effects of the earthquake vibrations were felt in all jurisdictions of the Banten Regional Police, even as far as Jakarta, but there was significant damage, especially in the Pandeglang and Lebak districts," said Shinto Silitonga.

Shinto stated that until now there were two districts that were badly affected by the earthquake, namely Pandeglang and Lebak Regencies. "We are grateful that until tonight, no one has died," Shinto said, as quoted by Antara.

According to him, the impact of the earthquake in Pandeglang Regency as of 19.30 western Indonesia time which has been recorded by the ranks of the Polsek personnel is 54 units of houses that were damaged.

The damage to the houses were 8 units in Cimanggu, 1 unit in Mandalawangi District, 3 units in Angsana, 8 units in Sumur, 5 units in Saketi, 3 units in Jiput, 1 unit in Banjar, 1 unit in Cigeulis, 3 units in Picung, 4 units in Patia, 4 units in Panimbang, 2 units in Pulosari, 1 unit in Labuan, 1 unit in Carita, 4 units in Munjul, 5 units in Pagelaran District.

Then 3 school units were damaged: MTS Negeri 3 Cibaliung, Madrasah Cibereum, SMP Sumur. Furthermore, 2 units of the prayer room were damaged, 1 unit in Cikeusik, 1 unit in Bojong, 1 unit of the public health center (puskesmas) was damaged in Sumur and one woman suffered serious head injuries, namely in Sumur District.

"The victim has been treated at the Puskesmas by sewing the wounds," said Shinto.

Shinto also explained the impact of the earthquake in Lebak Regency as of 19.00 WIB which had been recorded by the ranks of the Polsek personnel, namely 40 houses were damaged, namely 1 house in Gunung Kencana District, 2 heavily damaged houses in Wanasalam, 7 natural houses lightly damaged in Warunggunung District. , 1 housing unit in Cijaku Subdistrict, 16 housing units in Cihara Subdistrict, 1 housing unit in Malingping, 4 housing units in Banjarsari, 7 housing units in Cirinten Subdistrict, 1 housing unit in Rangkasbitung.

"Then there were 3 school units that were damaged, namely MAN 3 Lebak in Gunung Kencana District and SMPN 3 Wanasalam, SD Negeri 1 Sukaresmi in Sobang," said Shinto.

Furthermore, according to Shinto, there was a man who suffered minor injuries to his head due to a falling tile in Malimping District, and a woman suffered minor injuries to her head.

Then Shinto explained that the Labuan PLN vital object was reported to have no damage and is still running normally.
