Task Force: 126 PMI From Malaysia And Singapore Negative For COVID-19

TANJUNGPINANG - The Commander of the Special Task Force (Satgassus) for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) who is also Danrem 033/Wira Pratama (WP) Brigadier General Jimmy Ramoz Manalu confirmed that as many as 126 PMIs from Malaysia and Singapore arrived at the Batam Center and Harbor Bay ports, Batam, Riau Islands negative for COVID-19.

"They were immediately handled by the PMI Task Force by conducting an antigen swab test and stage one PCR and all of them were declared negative," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 13.

However, the PMI Task Force continues to make maximum efforts in anticipating the entry of the PMI cluster COVID-19 who returned from the neighboring country.

Efforts are being made to hasten the COVID-19 vaccination, where currently the Gurindam 12 mobile vaccine team who are members of the PMI Task Force have been recorded to have vaccinated 2,009 PMIs.

In addition, the PMI Dansatgassus also reported the current condition of the Galang Island Hospital which is currently inhabited by 234 patients, consisting of 158 male patients and 85 female patients.

"When faced with a bed capacity of 460 units, it has an occupancy of around 52.83 percent," he said.

Jimmy also said that from the number of patients, the Omicron variant had not been found and there was nothing that stood out, so the Galang Island RSKI was safe and under control.

He emphasized that the PMI Task Force continues to do its best in carrying out its duties, in order to protect the community, especially the Riau Islands region, from COVID-19.

"The achievements that have been successfully carried out by the PMI Task Force are the fruit of the collaboration of all relevant parties so that the handling of COVID-19 can be realized more quickly," said Jimmy.
