Nadia was taken to the TC Hillers Maumere General Hospital on Wednesday, January 12 at dawn. When examined, Nadia tested positive for dengue. The toddler girl died at 21.00 WITA in the ICU room at the TC Hillers Maumere General Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Sikka Health Service, Dr. Clara Yosefina Francis, said that Nadia was the first victim of dengue fever in the first two weeks in January 2022 in Sikka Regency.
There are currently 40 positive dengue cases in Sikka in early January 2022, which is up from 31 cases in the same period in January 2021.
Clara appealed to the public to maintain a clean and healthy lifestyle starting from their respective environments.
He also asked the family to pay attention to the condition of each other family member. If anyone experiences symptoms of fever in their bodies, especially children, they must be immediately taken to a health facility, either a health center, a hospital, or a practicing doctor.
Clara said help should be given immediately if the body experienced symptoms of heat. If they are checked and declared on alert for DHF, the Puskesmas will immediately be contacted and a team will go down to conduct an epidemiological investigation.
