HMS: Special Committee For BLBI DPD RI Don't Be A Trojan Horse For Political Interests
JAKARTA - The Movement for Turning on Prosperous Communities (HMS) reminded the Regional Representatives Council (DPD RI) not to make the Special Committee for Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (Pansus BLBI) a trojan horse for political interests.
For this reason, the DPD RI BLBI Special Committee must really work optimally to unravel the tangled threads of this state financial megascandal case.
"We as elements of civil society will continue to oversee the work of the BLBI DPD RI Special Committee. Don't let them catch a cold and use the BLBI Special Committee as a political barter arena," said Secretary General of HMS, Hardjuno Wiwoho in Jakarta, Thursday, January 13.
Previously, the DPD RI authorized the formation of three Special Committees in early 2022. The three Special Committees formed by DPD RI were the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Special Committee, the Job Creation Law Special Committee (Ciptaker) and the BLBI Special Committee.
"Considering the effectiveness and efficiency of the special committee's working time in discussing related issues, it can work directly after it has been ratified and approved by the composition and membership of the special committee at this session," said Deputy Chairman of the DPD RI Nono Sampono at the opening of the Plenary Session, Tuesday, January 11.
Hardjuno emphasized that the BLBI case was an extraordinary crime event which was a crime event when the country was undergoing a transition from the new order government to the reform era.
For this reason, he hopes that the BLBI DPD RI Special Committee must work as much as possible. Thus, Pandora's box for the BLBI case can be revealed.
"The BLBI case occurred because it was suspected that there was a high-level conspiracy. There was a very sophisticated game from banking officials at that time," he explained.
The BLBI scheme, which is called the BLBI crime, is an aid or loan scheme provided by Bank Indonesia (BI) to banks experiencing liquidity problems during the 1998 crisis in Indonesia.
"And until now nothing has been completed," he said.
So far, it is clear that Hardjuno has made many political efforts to resolve the BLBI scandal. Unfortunately, the ending is not clear.
Therefore, he hopes that the BLBI DPD RI Special Committee is not just lip service. But must work wholeheartedly to dismantle the scandal.
"So, I remind you that this BLBI Special Committee is not a pretense to reveal the truth for the sake of the people. Show us that the Special Committee for BLBI DPD RI is serious. And the Special Committee is not pretending to please the people," he said.
Furthermore, Hardjuno emphasized that it is legal when the community continues to demand the settlement of the BLBI case. Moreover, based on data from the BPK in 2004, it has also been explained that there is a state loss in this case.
"So in my opinion, if there are new findings, law enforcement officers such as the KPK should investigate again. Do not remain silent. But the problem is that the KPK always takes refuge in the Formalistic Law. Therefore, the KPK must be creative in solving these cases," he concluded.
