Snapchat Brings Four New Features, Gives Its App A Refreshment

JAKARTA - Still in the new year's mood, Snapchat has introduced many new features including poll stickers, individual chat replies in group discussions and using Bitmoji to reply to messages.

In the coming days, Android and iOS users will be able to use Snapchat's new features. What are the unique features of this? Check it out below.

Poll Stickers like Instagram Own

In the series of new features, there is a Poll Sticker, where users can create a poll and then share it on Snaps and Stories. This new poll sticker provides a fun way to measure a friend's response to any question a user chooses.

“Our visual poll works on iOS and Android, so all your friends can consider and show their thoughts. Plus, our Polls are designed with transparency in mind, you can see how your friends are voting to help ensure responses remain thoughtful and friendly," Snapchat said.

This poll sticker is similar to the feature embedded in Instagram Stories some time ago. But the difference lies in the use of emojis for Snapchat, while Instagram is divided into two boxes which users can fill in with choice questions. Snapchat's new poll sticker is now available in the stickers folder in the app.

Avoid Disturbing Chat in Groups

Launching Social Media Today, Thursday, January 13, Snapchat also added a new option to reply to individual messages to users within an ongoing group chat, allowing them to specifically reply to any comment with a separate chat thread.

Its functionality is similar to that of group chats on Messenger and WhatsApp, considering that Meta added the same functionality in 2019 on Messenger. This option will make it easier to make sure the message is understood, while also providing more context to all members of the group chat.

To use the individual reply option, users can now hold the message in the chat in the group and then tap Reply.

Use Bitmoji to Make Chat Fun

Snap also launched Bitmoji Reactions, which is similar to the reaction options on other social media apps, but by using Bitmoji characters, users can give them a more personal touch.

In a chat, users can now select one of seven Bitmoji reactions, providing a quick way to respond to messages with the use of Bitmojis. There are seven options to choose from, including thumbs up, thumbs down, hearts, flames, and tears of joy.

Video Call Using Filter

Finally, Snapchat updated its video and audio calling interface to make live conversations more enjoyable. Users can use the Lenses feature in video calls, known as Snap video call options elements or filters.

Interestingly, the user can also see who was in the group call before he joined. With the launch of these four new features, Snap will help increase engagement and interaction in group chats and call options. All these new features are now available in the latest version of the app.
