Fire Bursts From Underground Gas Pipeline In Mangga Besar, Officials Say There Is A Leak

JAKARTA - West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. officers struggled to extinguish the fire that was gushing out of an underground gas pipeline on Jalan Raya Mangga Besar, Mangga Besar Village, Tamansari District.

The process of extinguishing the fire was dramatic because of the difficulty of extinguishing the fire that came out of the underground channel.

According to the West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. officer, Sukiman, his party sent 30 firefighters to extinguish the fire.

Previously, there were reports from PPSU members who came to the Fire Station on Tuesday, January 11, at around 17.00 WIB in the afternoon. Receiving the report, officers immediately rushed to the location.

"It is suspected that there was a gas pipe (GAS) leak in the underground gas pipeline," he said, Tuesday, January 11.

The fire, which had been blazing from inside the canal, was extinguished by officers.

"The ignition (fire) was extinguished at around 17.45 WIB. But it still emits gas," he said.

Until now, the cause of the gas leak is still under investigation by the West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept.
