Coming To East Lombok, Police Meet The Family Of The Offering Kicker On Mount Semeru
MATARAM - East Java Regional Police officers met the family of the man who threw and kicked the offerings at the Mount Semeru disaster site, Lumajang Regency.
The Head of Public Relations of the NTB Polda Kombes Artanto said the East Java Police met the man's family in the East Lombok Regency.
"So, we from the NTB Police are helpful, 'back-up' and the East Java Police have met the family (offering kickers) in East Lombok," said Artanto, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 11.
During the meeting, the police received clarification from the family of the man whose identity was later revealed with the initials F.
"The family has stated that this F is indeed from their family," he said.
According to his family, F is currently pursuing an undergraduate education program in Yogyakarta.
"So F is a graduate of Madrasah Tsanawiyah in East Lombok and continued to Madrasah Aliyah in Yogyakarta. He is currently studying for an undergraduate at a university in Yogyakarta," he said.
Artanto said the NTB Police in this matter only followed up on the results of the coordination of the East Java Police. Therefore, the matter is now under the authority of the East Java Regional Police.
Previously, F went viral on social media with his action in a video upload wearing a black vest and commenting on offerings in the Mount Semeru area. In the video, he is seen throwing and kicking the offerings in front of him.
Unexpectedly, the video has caused a lot of public reaction. One of them emerged from the eldest daughter of the 4th President Abdurrahman Wahid, Alissa Wahid, on his Twitter @AlissaWahid.
He tweeted, "welcome if there are people who believe in offerings it is not allowed. However, forcing these beliefs on those who believe in it is not allowed."
"It's really troublesome to meet models like this. It's really hard to understand that the world doesn't just belong to the group," he tweeted.
Likewise, the expression of disappointment came from the Regent of Lumajang, Thoriqul Haq. According to him, the man did not take care of his duties and instead violated the values that exist in the local community around Mount Semeru.
