Djoko Tjandra's 'hat Trick'

JAKARTA - After being arrested in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Djoko Tjandra not only had to serve a prison sentence in the case of transfer of collection rights ( cessie ) Bank Bali. Djoko Tjandra was named a suspect in three cases.

At Bareskrim Polri, Djoko Tjandra was named a suspect in two cases, namely the creation of fake travel documents and the removal of red notices .

Bareskrim named four suspects in the case of alleged gratification related to the removal of red notice Djoko Tjandra. Two suspects who gave gratuities are Djoko Tjandra and Tommy Sumardi (TS). Meanwhile, Bareskrim Polri appointed Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo (PU) and Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte (NB).

Meanwhile, in the second case, namely a general crime related to the making of fake letters, investigators named Djoko Tjandra as a suspect. In the case of making this fake letter, investigators had already appointed Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo, Anita Dewi Kolopaking.

During the investigation, Djoko Tjandra admitted to giving money to Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte and Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo. But regarding the nominal amount of money given by Djoko Tjandra, the National Police has not disclosed it.

"The person concerned (Djoko Tjandra) has admitted that (bribery) has given a certain amount of money to the suspects," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono.

Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman once revealed the flow of alleged bribery from Djoko Tjandra to two police generals. Djoko Tjandra asked Tommy Sumardi for help in taking care of removing red notices .

From the lobby to finally being introduced to Napoleon Bonaparte, Tommy Sumardi allegedly gave US $ 20 thousand to Brigadier General Prasetyo.

"It is suspected that TS gave his thanks to the Public Works Brigadier General for 20 thousand US dollars. how many TS was allegedly given to NB. I cannot confirm the amount. But it is thought to be bigger than what Brigadier General PU received, ”said Boyamin, Tuesday, August 18.

Meanwhile, at the Attorney General's Office, Djoko Tjandra was named a suspect for allegedly giving bribes to prosecutor Pinangki Sirna Malasari.

Djoko Tjandra allegedly asked for help in processing a fatwa from the Supreme Court (MA) so that he would not be executed in the Bank Bali collection rights case.

"The suspects are suspected of having committed an act related to the processing of a fatwa. About the JST suspect (Joko Soegiarto Tjandra), how to get a fatwa so that he does not get executed. So the conspiracy is not to be executed by the prosecutor, asking for a fatwa to the Supreme Court, "said Kapuspenkum AGO Hari Setiyono, Thursday, August 27.

It is suspected that the attempt to obtain a fatwa to the Supreme Court occurred between November 2019 and January 2020. From the results of the investigation, it is known that the attempt to request a fatwa so that Djoko Tjandra would not be executed failed.

"It didn't work out," said Hari.

Regarding the effort to arrange a fatwa to the Supreme Court so that he would not be executed, Djoko Tjandra allegedly gave money which was later allegedly used by prosecutor Pinangki to buy a luxury BMW car.
