JCI Closes Stronger, Most Telkom And Gudang Garam Shares Are Released By Foreign Investors
JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed higher on trading Thursday, August 27. JCI closed up 0.58 percent or 31.14 points to 5,371.47 levels.
Closing the trade, 211 stocks rose, 22 stocks fell, and 16 stocks remained stagnant. The trading volume was recorded at 17.14 billion shares and was transacted at IDR10.64 trillion.
Binaartha Sekuritas analyst, M. Nafan Aji Gusta Utama said that the strengthening of the JCI was driven by the market which highly appreciates the development of COVID-19 vaccine research which is increasingly positive.
"The market also appreciates the increase in economic activity in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic," Nafan told VOI.
This afternoon, shares of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) and PT Gudang Garam Tbk (GGRM) are the shares most sold by foreign investors.
Foreign investors sold TLKM shares for a total of IDR 210.32 billion with a volume of 113.39 million shares. Meanwhile, 2.6 million shares of GGRM were sold with a total transaction of IDR 90.22 billion.
