In Front Of PDIP Cadres, Jokowi Shows The Positive Effects Of Stopping Raw Material Exports

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo stated that Indonesia had stopped exporting mineral materials such as nickel, copper, bauxite and gold. The statement was made while attending the 49th Anniversary of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Monday, January 10. Initially, Jokowi conveyed about the allocation of village funds which continued to increase every year. From Rp. 21 trillion in 2015 to Rp. 72 trillion in 2021. He said, the total village funds that have been disbursed by the government from 2015 to 2021 will reach Rp. 400.1 trillion. the life of rural communities and narrowing the gap between rural and urban areas," said Jokowi.

From the existing village funds, he continued, the government has built village roads, embongs, irrigation, village market bridges, additional boats, and others.

"Because many people think that we only build big ones. Toll roads, airports, ports, we also build village roads, embongs, and clean water in villages, posyandu in villages, build village wells, build drainage, because this is the infrastructure needed in the village. Besides us building large infrastructure, this will also build a civilization, uniting our country, creating jobs and creating new economic points throughout the country," he said.

Jokowi said the government also continues to be committed and work hard to build and strengthen the independence of the nation. In front of Megawati, Jokowi then mentioned the downstreaming of the digitalization industry which will continue to be improved to generate the widest possible employment opportunities. The President stated that since 2020 the government has stopped the export of nickel raw materials.

"This year we will immediately stop the export of bauxite raw materials. Next year we will stop the export of copper raw materials again. Because the downstream impact of this industry will be very large," said Jokowi. According to him, by opening up large job opportunities along with the cessation of exports, the country will also get great added value. "For example, stop nickel raw materials and then our exports are around Rp. 25 trillion because we only export raw materials. Now, because the exports of finished and semi-finished materials, our exports have reached 21 billion US dollars or approximately almost Rp. 280 trillion. for mineral materials we have, both nickel, bauxite, copper, tin and gold, etc.," he said.
