Attorney General Requests Legal Audit Function Encouraged

JAKARTA - Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin asked the district attorney's office to promote the legal audit function in the civil and state administration fields to close potential corruption gaps and prevent corruption.

"As a precautionary measure, the civil and state administrative fields are proactive in providing input and guidance in drafting cooperation agreements, so that risks arising from weak agreements can be avoided," said Burhanuddin in a written statement received Saturday, January 8.

The legal function of auditing the civil and administrative fields is stated in the Attorney General's Instruction Number 10 of 2020.

According to Burhanuddin, currently the more dominant functions of civil and state administration are legal assistance and legal opinion.

For this reason, Burhanuddin views that the legal audit function should be more encouraged, this is a continuous process where the function of law enforcement, especially in the field of corruption, has been very massively implemented.

"But we also have to be able to identify what is the cause of the leak," he said as quoted by Antara.

Thus, continued Burhanuddin, conducting a legal audit can close the potential gap for corruption.

"This is one of our efforts to prevent corruption," said Burhanuddin.
