SURABAYA - Surabaya Mayor, Eri Cahyadi, moved quickly to directly check several puddles caused by heavy rain and strong winds that occurred on Friday afternoon until late at night.
"That's what from the intersection, please divert Kertajaya first, here it can't go, let's hurry", said Mayor Eri Cahyadi instructing his staff in the Jalan Dharmawangsa area, Surabaya, East Java, quoted by Antara, Friday, January 7.
Eri Cahyadi saw several channels and communicated with his staff while giving directions using his HT or cellphone. Dressed in a white shirt without a raincoat, Mayor Eri's body was soaked and his feet were submerged up to his knees.
Several residents seemed to encourage Mayor Eri Cahyadi. In fact, some of them clapped. "Come on, sir, God willing, you can", said a resident shouting on Dharmawangsa Street.
Seeing this, Mayor Eri Cahyadi only replied by cupping his hands together. "Sepuntene (apologies). We continue to fix this", he said.
