Indonesian Navy Fails To Send 52 Illegal Migrant Workers To Malaysia In Tanjungbalai, North Sumatra
TANJUNGBALAI - The joint marine patrol of the Tanjungbalai Asahan Navy Base and the Asahan Police thwarted an attempt to send 52 illegal Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) to Malaysia.
TBA Lanal Commander, Marine Lieutenant Colonel (F), Robinson Hendrik Etwiory, said 52 migrant workers without official documents were secured from an unnamed motorboat/KM while sailing from Tanjungbalai Indonesia to Malaysia, to be exact in Asahan waters.
"Dozens of people were secured by the Lanal TBA Patrol Team and the Asahan Polres Satpolair from above KM without a name. They are suspected of being PMI who are going to Malaysia," he said, quoted by Antara on Friday, January 7.
Robinson said for further processing the 52 illegal PMIs along with the captain of the motorboat were handed over to the Asahan Police.

They are currently being collected data to be submitted to the Asahan Police.
