Involved In Fixing The Score, Arreche's Argentine Tennis Player Is Suspended For 4 Years And Fined Rp115 Million

JAKARTA - Argentina's Nicolas Arreche has been sentenced to four years and a fine of US$8,000 (approximately Rp115 million) after being found involved in match-fixing.

The Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) on Thursday said Arreche "designed or attempted to manipulate the results of tennis matches".

The 27-year-old, who holds the highest ranking in the ATP singles rankings at number 567, was provisionally suspended in April last year.

The ban is valid until April 23, 2025.

A number of other low-ranking players from Argentina have also been suspended for match-fixing in recent years.

Franco Feitt was banned for life in April last year after admitting to nine violations of the rules of the tennis anti-corruption programme.
