Governor Of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi's Lawyer Considers Reporting Back To Billiards Coach Who Was Tried For Blasphemy

MEDAN - The attorney for the Governor of North Sumatra (Gubsu) Edy Rahmayadi, Junirwan, is considering reporting back on the billiards coach for PON Papua Khairuddin Aritonang or Choki.

Junirwan said his party plans to report back to the police Choki for blasphemy against the regional head. The reason is that Choki allegedly mentioned the governor as evil.

"We are considering making a report, the alleged crime was committed by Choki's brother, namely blasphemy by saying evil," said Junirwan, Thursday, January 6.

Junirwan said Choki's statement in a media interview after being tricked by Governor Edy was excessive.

"It's too much, which we thought before. What Choki did while we were silent, it was too much. It was disproportionate and ran away from the substance of the problem," he explained.

"It means that people who report to the police seek justice. This has run away in essence. I see this, they have run away from the report of the alleged crime. Blow up (to the media) every process they blow up to the media," continued Junirwan.

According to Gubsu Edy's lawyer, the context of the word evil is inappropriate for reporting. Moreover, the mention of the term evil is addressed to Governor Edy.

"Which is the position as a coach for North Sumatra's sports people. The governor's function as a coach is based on Law number 3 of 2005 concerning the National Sports system," said Junirwan.

The lawyer emphasized that Governor Edy had no intention to humiliate Choki in public. Therefore, the public is asked to see the incident where Governor Edy manipulated the billiards coach proportionally.

"So there is standardization to conduct coaching. What is the basis for humiliating him (Choki). He is not at the governor's level, but he is the level being fostered," said Junirwan.

The lawyer said that the ear tugging that Governor Edy had done was affectionate tweaking. There was no intention of the former Kostrad Commander, to hurt Choki's heart.

"He (Edy Rahamayadi) only held his shoulders and ears, because at that time the person concerned was not listening, and some said he might be asleep, that's why he was called. One more thing when he was given a mic, he was invited to dialogue, at that time, he should have had a dialogue defending himself," he explained.

Junirwan said Governor Edy did not expect Choki to report himself to the North Sumatra Police. The lawyer considered this report inappropriate, because the son reported the father to the police.

"Mr. Edy himself did not suspect at all that this was made into a report to the police. He (Edy Rahmayadi) said that I was his coach. How come he reported it, it's like a child reporting his coach. A parent educates a child, then the child reporting their parents like that, it's not good, right," said Junirwan.
