Prosecutors Name Two Corruption Suspects For Grant Funds In The Anambas Islands
ANAMABAS - The Natuna District Attorney's Branch (Cabjari) team in Tarempa, Riau Islands has named two suspects in the alleged corruption of grant funds from the Anambas Islands Regency National Assimilation Forum (FPK) grant for the 2020 fiscal year.
"The state loss caused was Rp169 million. The suspect's modus operandi was to make a false liability report," said Chief of Cabjari Natuna in Tarempa, Roy Huffington Harahap, quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 6.
The two suspects are MI as chairman and MA as treasurer at the Anambas Islands FPK.
"The determination of the two suspects after the fulfillment of two valid pieces of evidence," he said.
Roy said that both of them had been detained at Bintahmil Denpom Lanal Tarempa, because there were concerns that the suspect would run away, destroy or destroy evidence and/or repeat the crime and the objective requirement was that the criminal acts committed by the suspects were punishable by imprisonment of five years or more.

The two suspects are suspected of violating the primary Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 of 1999 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes.
Then, a subsidiary of Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code as amended and added to Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
According to Roy, the criminal acts of corruption committed by the two suspects greatly impacted the sustainability of the nine tribal associations in the Anambas Islands.
"We urge all people to avoid acts of corruption and report immediately if they know of corruption cases in the Anambas Islands," he emphasized.
