COVID-19 Update As Of January 6: 533 New Cases, Active Cases Increase To 5,195

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 274,727 specimens were examined with the results of 533 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,264,669 and active cases have increased by 317 to 5,195 cases," said Ministry of Health data, Thursday, January 6.

Today's recovered cases increased by 209 cases, bringing the total to 4,115,358 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 7 people and the total was 144,116 people.

The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 267 cases and a total of 866,331 cases. Followed by the Riau Islands with 123 new cases with a total of 54,500 cases. East Java with 25 new cases and a total of 400,153 cases. Then, West Java has 24 new cases and a total of 708,971 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Papua with an additional 68 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 50 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 27 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 20 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 64,697,095.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.12 percent," he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 5,088 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

So far, 167,999,777 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 115,554,584 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 1,297,372. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
