Negative COVID-19 Test Results, Messi Returns To Paris And Is Ready To Train Again

JAKARTA - Lionel Messi has returned to Paris after testing negative for COVID-19 and in the next few days will join a training session with his teammates at the Paris Saint-Germain club.

Messi was previously reported to be one of four PSG players to have tested positive for COVID-19 last Sunday.

The 34-year-old megastar was on vacation in Argentina when he found the positive test result.

Messi was absent when PSG crushed fourth-tier team Vannes 4-0 in the last 32 of the French Cup on Monday.

In the same announcement on PSG's website, the club also revealed that full-back Layvin Kurzawa tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday local time.

The 29-year-old player was confirmed to be undergoing self-quarantine in accordance with applicable health protocols.

PSG is scheduled to visit Olympique Lyon's headquarters in the French League continued at the Groupama Stadium on Sunday.
