There's A Lot Of News About The 2012 Masterchef Malaysia Finalists Killing TKW From Indonesia, The Victims Are Local Residents

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Consul General Kota Kinabalu dismissed the news circulating on social media that the victim Nur Afiah, who was allegedly killed by Etiqah Siti Noorashikeen and her husband, Mohammad Ambree Yunos, was from Indonesia.

The murder case was in the media spotlight because Etiqah Siti Noorashikeen was a finalist for Masterchef Malaysia 2012. In addition, they also faked the cause of death of her housemaid.

Initially, it was rumored that the victims who were killed were from South Sulawesi, Indonesia. This news was denied by Muhammad Muhsinin Dolisada, Acting Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia Kota Kinabalu.

"The person concerned (Nur Afiah Daeng Damin) has been a Malaysian citizen since birth. Because the person concerned was born in Johor. Even though he is of Bugis descent, his parents have lived in Johor before," said Dolisada quoted from a video on YouTube.

Nur Usdar Daming, the victim's brother, explained that his parents had lived in Johor. "I used to live in Johor in 1992 until the 2000s. You got permanent citizenship in Malaysia. Now here," he said.

Usdar said he did not expect his brother to die in Malaysia. "I was really surprised to hear that my sister was killed. Before the incident, information was always there, always in contact with him. About seven months of communication cut off, nothing at all. It's been more than five years since he left," said Usdar, brother of Nur Afiah.
