Health Office Reports Alleged Sale And Purchase Of Booster Vaccine Syndicate In Surabaya

SURABAYA - The Surabaya City Health Office, East Java, has reported a suspected syndicate of buying and selling paid and illegal booster vaccines to the Surabaya Police.

Head of the Surabaya City Health Office, Nanik Sukristina in Surabaya, Wednesday, said the report was carried out after a resident claimed to have received a booster vaccine of the Sinovac type by paying IDR 250,000.

"Currently, we are still waiting for the results of the investigation by the Surabaya Police", he said, quoted by Antara on Wednesday, January 5.

According to him, the Surabaya Police are currently conducting an investigation.

Nanik also ensured that the booster vaccine for residents has not yet been carried out because the Surabaya City Government is still waiting for a Circular (SE) and technical instructions (Juknis) from the central government.

"Until now, (booster vaccine) there is no circular letter and technical instructions related to it", he said.

It is known that the practice of buying and selling the third dose of vaccination or paid booster in Surabaya is suspected to be carried out during November-December 2021.

This syndicate sells and simultaneously administers the third dose of vaccination using Sinovac, for IDR 250 thousand per person. This practice is illegal because the booster vaccine for the general public will only be officially implemented by the government for the community in 2022.

There are also three locations where the illegal practice is carried out, starting from places of worship, offices for delivery of goods and services to cafes.
