Bekasi Mayor Reportedly Affected By OTT, Golkar: We Are Waiting For KPK's Official Statement
JAKARTA - The Golkar Party responded to the news that the Mayor of Bekasi and Golkar Party cadre Rahmat Effendi had been hit by a hand arrest operation (OTT) organized by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Task Force Team. In the OTT, the KPK Task Force Team secured Rahmat and the private sector.
Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Polhukam) Adies Kadir, said his party was still waiting for an official announcement from the KPK regarding Rahmat's arrest.
"We're still looking, looking into the matter, if it's true, we'll wait for the official announcement from the KPK," Adies told reporters, Wednesday, January 5.
According to the secretary of the Golkar faction in the DPR, an official announcement from the Corruption Eradication Commission is needed so that the party led by Airlngga Hartarto knows about the case that ensnared Bang Pepen, as Rahmat Effendi is familiarly called.
So, said Adies, Golkar can determine the next steps to be taken.
"There has been no official announcement from the KPK. So we are still waiting for an official announcement from the KPK, then what steps can we take," said Adies.
Reportedly, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) task force team held a hand arrest operation (OTT) in Bekasi City, West Java, Wednesday, January 5.
Based on information, in the OTT, the KPK task force team helped secure the Mayor of Bekasi, Rahmat Effendi and the private sector. The same information stated that Rahmat Effendi and the private sector were arrested for allegedly being involved in bribery transactions.
Acting spokesman for the KPK, Ali Fikri confirmed the existence of the OTT. However, Ali has not been able to reveal the identity of the detained party. Ali only said that the parties were arrested because they were suspected of being related to corruption in the city of Bekasi.
"It is true, the information we obtained, Wednesday, January 5, at around 2 pm, the KPK team managed to secure several parties in arresting activities related to alleged criminal acts of corruption in the Bekasi City area, West Java," said Ali.
