British Man Is Positive For COVID-19 In Medan, Bobby Nasution Is Still Waiting For The Results Of The Balitbangkes Check About The Variant
MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution said British citizens were exposed to COVID-19 in Medan. But regarding the COVID-19 variant, Bobby is still waiting for the results of the Ministry of Health's check.
"We are right to convey that a British citizen is a positive patient for COVID-19 who was suspected of being Omicron. However, here we convey that we are still waiting for the PCR results to be sent to Balitbangkes in Jakarta," Bobby Nasution said, Wednesday, January 5.
Bobby Nasutin explained that the sending of the PCR sample of a British citizen was carried out to determine the type of COVID-19 variant that infected him. Currently, the patient is in good condition without any symptoms.
"We are still waiting to confirm what variant this British citizen is. Maybe one of the issues is why it is called Omicron because the country of origin for this patient is from a country that is developing Omicron cases. However, we cannot confirm what variant," he said.

Bobby Nasution explained that the British man's entry to Indonesia was not a tourist trip. The man, he said, was a cargo crew member.
"This is the crew of a cargo plane, which flies from England to Belgium, from Belgium to Singapore. However, around 1 night in Kualanamu and stays at the Horison Hotel. However, because the PCR letter expired, they had to retest to fly out of Indonesia. The results are positive," he said.
"Because he is a British citizen, he was immediately sent to Balitbangkes to see what variant. So, just one day in Horizon, because he didn't go to Indonesia, he wanted to go to Singapore," said Bobby Nasution.
