East Nusa Tenggara Prosecutor's Office Reveals A Corruption Case In The Construction Of Low-Income Community Houses In Kupang

KUPANG - The East Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor's Office revealed a corruption case in the 2012 Budget Year housing construction project for low-income people (MBR) in Kupang Regency.

"The NTT High Prosecutor's Office found that there was an unlawful act in the construction project of a low-income house worth IDR 2 billion for the 2021 Fiscal Year in Kupang Regency," said Head of the Legal Information and Public Relations Section of the NTT High Prosecutor's Office, Abdul Hakim, to reporters in Kupang, Wednesday, January 5.

He explained that the housing construction project for underprivileged residents was carried out by the Ministry of Public Housing in the Satker for Providing Housing for Low-Income Communities (MBR) Resident Directive in NTT Province in 2012.

Based on the results of the case conducted by the NTT Prosecutor's Office investigators, it was revealed that there was a criminal act of bribery to facilitate the construction of houses for underprivileged residents in Kupang Regency.

"Based on the results of the case title, this case has been upgraded from an investigation to an investigation because there are elements against the law," he said.

Abdul Hakim explained that investigators from the NTT High Prosecutor's Office will immediately conduct an examination of related parties at the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), implementing contractors and related officials in Kupang Regency.

"Next week, investigators from the NTT High Prosecutor's Office will begin the examination process," he said.

According to Abdul Hakim, the construction of tens of units of simple houses for poor residents was carried out by contracts from Jakarta allegedly using the flag of another party.

"All the tender processes are carried out in Jakarta, but the location for the construction of houses is in Kupang Regency," said Abdul Hakim.
