The victim's son, Ramdoni (25), explained that the attack by a group of youths against his family started because of a misunderstanding. According to Ramdoni and his younger brother, Marwan (23), they were polite and apologized when they were about to cross and meet the perpetrator, who was recorded as a resident of Cipinang Melayu Village.

"The motorbike didn't crash, there was nothing. When I apologized and said Merry Christmas and New Year, suddenly they attacked. My sister ran away to the house, they were chased by them", said Ramdoni.

Ramdoni said the perpetrators came gradually to his house until they reached 20 people. He said that residents near the scene of the incident also heard the noise of the beatings, but did not dare to help for fear of being targeted by the perpetrators.
