DPR Commission II: Head Of Regions Don't Fill By TNI-Police
JAKARTA - A total of 272 regional heads will end their tenure in 2022-2023. The vacant seats for the 24 governors as well as 248 regents and mayors will be filled by the executor who will serve temporarily until a new regional head is elected as a result of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Election (Pilkada).
Member of House of Representatives Commission II, Guspardi Gaus, reminded that the vacancy for the seat of the Acting Regional Head should not be filled by elements of the TNI or Police.
"Don't let the Ministry of Home Affairs drag the TNI-Police into filling positions that the Ministry of Home Affairs cannot do from insiders", said Guspardi, Tuesday, January 4.
Usually, he continued, those who fill the position are echelon I at the Ministry of Home Affairs. It's just that currently the Acting governor has to fill in seven people. So if echelon I fill everything from the Ministry of Home Affairs, there will be trouble.
"How? The method for filling it must be by the provisions of the regulations and apply. The provisions must be from the ASN (State Civil Apparatus) from the Director-General", he continued.
