COVID-19 Update As Of January 3: 265 New Cases, 4,530 Active Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 284,413 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 265 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,265,433 people and 4,530 active cases", said Ministry of Health data, Monday, January 3.

Today's recovered cases increased by 112 cases, bringing the total to 4,114,801 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 5 people and the total was 144,102 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 172 cases and a total of 865,690 cases. Followed by the Riau Islands which had 20 new cases with a total of 54,310 cases. West Java has 11 new cases and a total of 708,891 cases. Then, East Java has 10 new cases and a total of 486,934 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 23 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 16 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 13 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 9 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 63,829,597.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.12 percent", its wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 2,299 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently, 166,104,331 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 114,196,339 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 1,288,890. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
