JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team has finished their struggle in the 2020 AFF Cup and returned to their homeland. Even though they failed to bring home the title, the Garuda squad still received appreciation from the fans.

In fact, a touching moment was seen when the Indonesian national team players were undergoing a quarantine period at a hotel in Jakarta as part of implementing strict health protocols after traveling from abroad.

Even though the players were 'locked up' in the hotel for quarantine, the fans still came to the hotel parking lot. They unfurled a large banner that read 'I'm Proud of You' while lighting flares so that the players in the room could be seen.

The touching moment was shared by Witan Sulaeman through his Instagram story. Not only Witan, Shin Tae-yong as the national team coach also did not miss uploading the moment on his Instagram account.

Through the caption that accompanies the photos and a short video of the fans' actions, Shin Tae-yong expressed his gratitude. The South Korean coach also said the actions of the fans would be a spark of enthusiasm for the players for the future.

"Many thanks to Indonesian football fans. This moment will definitely be a dream and hope for the players who worked hard until the end. Thank you," wrote Shin Tae-yong.

The action of the fans outside the hotel where the quarantine is located is clearly a touching moment. Because, if you look at the final results in the 2020 AFF Cup, the national team failed to bring home the title after being held to a draw by Thailand in the second leg after losing 0-4 in the first leg.

The Garuda squad for the sixth time had to settle for the runner-up position. But on the other hand, they came home with the title as Group B champions who were ahead of eternal rivals, Malaysia and were rewarded with the fair play team award.
