BMKG Weather Forecast: Heavy Rain In Parts Of Indonesia On Monday 3 January

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that some parts of Indonesia will experience heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds today, Monday.

Based on information compiled by ANTARA from the official BMKG website in Jakarta, Monday, heavy rain accompanied by lightning/lightning is predicted in Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Lampung, and West Nusa Tenggara.

The weather forecast also applies to East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi and Maluku.

Meanwhile, areas that have the potential for rain that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds are West Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, North Maluku, and West Papua.

The BMKG also warns of 2.5-4 meter high waves in the waters of the Anambas Islands to the Natuna Islands, the waters of the Talaud Islands, the North Maluku Sea, the North and East Halmahera Waters, and the North Pacific Ocean from Halmahera to Papua.

In addition, it is necessary to watch out for very high waves of 4-6 meters in the North Natuna Sea.

The shipping sector is expected to pay attention to the high wave warning issued by the BMKG, which is valid from Monday (3/1) at 07.00 western Indonesia time to Tuesday (4/1) at 07.00 western Indonesia time.

People who live and work on the coast around areas that are prone to high waves are also advised to remain vigilant at all times.
