Residents Of Pesisir Selatan, West Sumatra Seek Water From Wells, Which Come Out Of Gas And Fire
PADANG - Residents of Nagari Sungai Tunu, Pesisir Selatan, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) were shocked by a water well that emitted gas and fire.
The video about the existence of the well was originally uploaded to the Facebook account of DPRD member Pessel Norvermal Yuska. He claimed to have received video submissions from local residents.
"Drilling clean water wells in Kampung Ampalu, nagari Sungai Tunu, Ranah Pesisir sub-district caused a stir for the local community. Apart from water, the wells also emitted gas, and sparked sparks," he wrote in the post.
In the video, it appears that a number of people are at the location of the drill well. One of them put a leaf on the surface of the well which then immediately caught fire.
"What you are looking for is clean water, salt water comes out, fire comes out. Great," said one person in the video.
Separately confirmed, the Head of the West Sumatra ESDM Service, Heri Martinus confirmed the incident. His party is now studying the causes of the gas bursts and fire from the well
"Yes, so I only received news at 11.00 WIB. Of course we have to study it first," said Heri when contacted, Monday, August 24.
Heri admitted that he had assigned a team to investigate the incident. The team from the ESDM Service will visit the drilling well location in the next two days.
"At best we will see it tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. I just asked them to learn first, who drilled it, where is it located," said Heri.
