COVID-19 Update As Of January 1st: 274 New Cases, Highest In DKI Jakarta With 118 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. The cumulative total of cases stands at 4,262,994 since the first cases were announced on March 2. Meanwhile, new cases per day reached 274 people.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases today increased by 165 people, bringing the total to 4,114,499 recovered people. Meanwhile, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 2 people and the total was 144,096 people.

Meanwhile, the province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 118 new cases and a total of 865,415. Followed by the Riau Islands with 52 new cases and a total of 54,266 cases. Then, West Java with 18 cases and a total of 708,870 cases.

Then, East Java with 15 cases and the total cases reached 400,081. Then, West Papua with 13 new cases and 23,673 cumulative cases. Furthermore, Banten with 8 new cases and the total reached 132,843.

It was also reported that there were 10 provinces that reported no additional new cases, namely Aceh, West Sumatra, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Southeast Sulawesi, Gorontal, West Sulawesi, Maluku, North Maluku, and Papua.

The province with the most recovered cases today is DKI Jakarta with an increase of 58 cases. Then, followed by West Papua with 17 recovered cases, East Java with 12 cases, West Java with 11 cases, and Central Java with 10 cases.

"There have been two deaths recorded. One person is in East Java province and the other is in West Sumatra," according to data from the Ministry of Health, Saturday, January 1.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined per day is 177,159. Meanwhile, cumulatively it reached 63,343,702. As for the details, 31,339,666 were examined by RT-PCR, 255,908 by the TMC method and 31,748,128 people were tested for antigen.

"For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it is recorded at 3,376 people," he said.

Then, the weekly positivity rate for people from December 26, 2021 to January 1, 2022 is 0.14 percent. Meanwhile, the daily positivity rate for people is 0.17 percent.

Currently, 778,365 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and the total has reached 161,861,222, and 364,111 for the second dose of vaccination, the cumulative total has reached 114,030,438. Meanwhile, there was no additional vaccination for the third dose, and the total was 1,288,890. Meanwhile, the vaccination target was 208,265,720 people.
