LPEI Collaborates With Kadin To Provide Export Training To Work On Global Market

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI)/ Indonesia Eximbank continues to encourage Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to become exporters, one of which is by providing export training to export-oriented businesses. It is hoped that this training can help MSMEs to better understand the export process in a comprehensive manner and in the end be able to carry out export activities independently.

Recently, LPEI/Indonesia Eximbank as one of the Special Mission Vehicles (SMV) from the Ministry of Finance also collaborated with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN) Semarang to provide export training to 50 export-oriented business actors in Central Java which was held on December 16-17, 2021.

The training was opened by the Head of the LPEI Consulting Services Division and the Government Assistant for Economic Affairs of the Semarang City Government, as well as the Chair of the Semarang City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Arnaz Agung Andrarasmara. This export training is a form of collaboration between institutions and the Regional Government to increase the role and capability of business actors, especially Central Java's export-oriented MSMEs in this pandemic era.

The Head of the LPEI Consulting Services Division, R. Gerald Setiawan Grisanto said, since 2015 LPEI has provided training and assistance to 2,706 business actors in 15 cities in Indonesia. There are 75 business actors who have successfully made their first export after participating in CPNE training.

"This time, LPEI cooperates with KADIN Semarang to map business actors based on the needs and obstacles they have faced so far. So that the training module delivered is in line with the expectations of CPNE participants," said Gerald in his statement, quoted on Thursday, December 30.

The Coaching Program for New Exporters (CPNE) is a training and mentoring program provided by LPEI to export-oriented MSME actors on an ongoing basis for a period of one year free of charge. The purpose of this program is to increase the capability of export-oriented business actors so that they can produce new quality exporters of #LokalyangWorldwide.

"In 2021, LPEI has provided training in several cities, including Medan, Surakarta, Denpasar, Kendal, Demak, Manado, and Bandung with the majority of business players in the food and beverage sector, craft, furniture, spices and coffee commodities," said Gerald.

LPEI's strategy is to help SME players advance to class in 2022, one of which is by prioritizing commodity-based community development programs. This program is designed as a solution for business actors and implemented in an integrated manner such as the Foreign Exchange Village which is a commodity-based community development program to generate foreign exchange and marketing handholding which is a program to market products produced by SMEs digitally through a global marketplace.

According to Gerald, LPEI will always synergize and collaborate between institutions as well as the central and regional governments to build an integrated export ecosystem in order to increase the capability of Indonesian business actors and products with high competitiveness in the global market.

"Hopefully, the synergies that are established will be stronger to support the pace of Indonesia's exports to foreign countries, with the slogan #LokalyangMendunia making Indonesian products stronger to reach the world," he concluded.
