Firli Bahuri: Power Must Play A Role In Eradicating Corruption
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri said his party was committed to eradicating corrupt practices in the country. However, all parties in power must play a role in this effort as an orchestra.
"Each chamber of power must play a role in eradicating corruption," said Firli at a press conference on the KPK's 2021 performance achievements at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, December 29.
Firli explained the task of each chamber of power in the country in eradicating corruption. The legislative chamber, he said, must draw up laws and regulations to be free from corruption.
Meanwhile, the executive room must be clean in an effort to compile and ratify the state budget as well as its implementation. Including, always trying to supervise so that the budget issued is free from corruption.
"Then the judiciary, the entire judicial process must be free and free from corruption. Likewise, the chambers of power in political parties must also be free and free from corruption," said the former Deputy for Enforcement of the Corruption Eradication Commission.
If all the chambers of power and elements of society continue to play their roles and are free from corruption, Firli believes that there will be no more criminal acts of hooliganism in Indonesia.
Moreover, Firli emphasized that KPK will never tire of eradicating corruption.
"In short, we want to say that we can solve corruption if all the chambers of power, all elements of society, and all the children of the nation take a role in eradicating corruption," he said.
"We really hope that the community will continue to provide support and the KPK will never tire of eradicating corruption," said Firli.
