East Jakarta Prosecutor's Office Destroys Homemade Guns Used By Terrorists Throughout 2021
JAKARTA - The East Jakarta District Attorney's Office (Kejari) destroyed evidence of replica firearms (senpi) and a number of sharp weapons belonging to terrorist suspects who had been sentenced and serving time in detention. Based on the records of the East Jakarta Kejari, during early 2021, there were hundreds of recorded terrorism cases. However, 52 cases have been signed. "There are 52 terrorism cases that have permanent legal force during 2021. The evidence is various types of weapons, homemade firearms, sharp weapons and arrow weapons," said East Jakarta Kejari Chief Ardito Muwardi to VOI, Wednesday, December 29.

Meanwhile, Head of the East Jakarta District Attorney's Office for Evidence and Loot Management, Putri Eka, said that there were more than 200 terrorism cases, but 52 cases had been signed since early 2021. "Previously there were but not many, since early 2021 (many)," he said. In the destruction, the evidence was cut using a grinding machine which was split into several parts. "Softguns, sickles, poison-tipped arrows and other sharp weapons were destroyed. We don't have explosives available, usually (if) we have explosives, we put them in Densus," he said.
