Agus explained that the increase in egg prices was based on the purchase price of one egg crate, which reached Rp465 thousand. He detailed, an average crate contains 15 kilograms of eggs. "The selling price of Rp. 34 thousand per kilogram is also based on the calculation (of eggs) that are broken and shrink (from the purchase of each one crate)," he said. According to Agus, the price of eggs was previously in the range of Rp. 25 thousand to Rp. 27 thousand. "It started going up about a week before Christmas, then it went up high," he said. An increase in egg prices also occurred in Cipete Market with a similar price of Rp. 34 thousand per kilogram. "The price of eggs will increase starting this December," said Gunawan (30), an egg trader.
