JAKARTA - All Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) in Surabaya, East Java are asked to close their services at 21.00 WIB on New Year's Eve or December 31, 2021 and reopen on January 1, 2022, at 04.00 WIB.

Head of the Surabaya Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) Eddy Christijanto in Surabaya, Tuesday, said the instructions were contained in the Surabaya Satpol PP Circular Number: 300/ 6831/ 436.7.22/2021, dated December 27, 2021.

"So previously at the SE Mayor of Surabaya on December 14, 2021, all activities on New Year's Eve finished at 21.00 WIB. From that basis, we followed up for gas stations to also close at 21.00 WIB and open again at 04.00 WIB, like the night of the turn of the year 2021 ," said Eddy, December 28, as reported by Antara.

He explained that the policy was to prevent people's mobility, such as parades or processions of motorized vehicles.

Therefore, he hopes that the leaders or managers of gas stations in the city of Surabaya will pay attention to the SE.

"So we ask for the cooperation of gas stations. So that there is no procession, there is no vehicle parade in the city of Surabaya. So that all people carry out activities in their respective homes in the context of celebrating New Year's Eve 2022," he said.

He admitted that he had communicated with all gas station owners or managers in the city of Surabaya so that sales activities on New Year's Eve could close starting at 21.00 WIB.

To ensure this, his party together with the police will conduct surveillance and patrols in the field.

He explained that the city government also prohibited the celebration of "at venue" on New Year's Eve, either in restaurants, cafes, restaurants, or other facilities on New Year's Eve.

"This includes all Public Entertainment Recreational Places (RHU) in Surabaya, which must also be closed on December 24 and 31, 2021. We also urge the residents of Surabaya to celebrate the New Year celebrations at their respective homes. There will be no parades, no celebrations. venues'," he said.
