After Lots Of Complaints, The Damaged And Flooded Road Tun Abdul Razak Connecting Gowa-Makassar Begins To Be Handled
MAKASSAR - The South Sulawesi Provincial Government is focused on completing the Tun Abdul Razak Road section that connects Gowa and Makassar Regencies in 2022.
Head of the Planning Section of Bina Marga of the South Sulawesi PUTR Office, Sukarlan, said that the road linking the Hertasning road access was badly damaged.
In fact, many roads have potholes and there are frequent puddles of water. While this road is also one of the very high average daily traffic (LHR).
"On direct instructions by the Acting Governor of South Sulawesi, Mr. Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, directing that it be done early by digging the sewers," said Sukarlan, quoted by Antara, Monday, December 27.
Sukarlan explained that handling had been started from routine maintenance funds.
The main focus is to drain the stagnant water on the Tun Abdul Razak road, which is handled by making a channel to drain water from the inundation location to the nearest river with a length of about 400 meters.
"For 2022, the South Sulawesi Provincial Government through the PUTR Service will budget for the handling of the Jalan Tun Abdul Razak section. This work will complete the badly damaged roads on these roads,” he said.
Not only preservation for road repairs, but also for the drainage system. Considering the location of this road, flooding often occurs.
"There is also the handling of drainage, for left-right channels. And for the handling of road bodies in the form of asphalting and raising roads," he explained.
Meanwhile, Acting Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, emphasized that road infrastructure improvements will be completed in stages. Given that financial conditions are still focused on handling COVID-19.
"The stub of the Jalan Tun Abdul Razak channel is currently being dredged for the sewer. Design, construction of the channel and the physical road will be carried out in stages," he explained.
"All residents who pass by are patient and hope for the support of all parties for the repair of this road," he said.
