Responding To Indonesia Vs Singapore Draw, PSSI Chairman: Weak National Team In The Second Round
JAKARTA - PSSI General Chair, Mochamad Iriawan, gave his response regarding the draw the Indonesian national team got when they met Singapore. In the first leg of the 2020 AFF Cup semifinals, the national team closed the match with a score of 1-1.
According to Iriawan, there were differences in the performances shown by the national team in the two rounds against Singapore. Evan Dimas et al were actually able to perform well in the early rounds, but then things changed into the middle of the second half.
"We played well in the first half. However, in the middle of the second half we were slack", said Iriawan, quoted from PSSI's official website, Thursday, December 23.
Seeing this, Iriawan emphasized that Shin Tae-yong as the coach could immediately correct the team's shortcomings. This is for maximum performance in the follow-up game.
"This must be corrected by Shin Tae-yong so that he can perform optimally in the second match", he continued.

Despite reaping a draw in the first leg, the Indonesian and Singaporean national teams still have an equal chance of qualifying for the final round because there is still a second leg.
Seeing this opportunity, Iriawan hopes that Witan Sulaeman and his friends can keep their focus on the match.
"There is still one match to ensure a ticket to the final. We still have to focus and don't be careless. Because anything can still happen", said Iriawan.
The second leg of the 2020 AFF Cup semifinals between Indonesia vs Singapore will take place on Saturday, December 25 at the National Stadium, Singapore.
